It is possible, however, to give some general guidelines for university requirements. Canadian, American, and European universities, as well as AUC, all require 6 grade 12 4U or 4M courses for admission. General admission grades are 70-75%. Specialized programs such as Business or Engineering, however, require much higher grades, often in the 90s. Check your program carefully. Students are strongly recommended to take at least 7 courses in grade 12 so they can choose their best grades. In addition, many schools, such as AUC, will require a TOEFL test for entrance. This test should be written in the fall of grade 12, so that students have plenty of time to take it a second time if needed. Different programs require different courses in grade 12. For example, Engineering requires: ENG4U, MHF4U, MCV4U, SPH4U, SCH4U, + one other course. Business requires: ENG4U, MHF4U, MCV4U + 3 other courses. These requirements can vary from school to school, however, so it is important to do some research. Egyptian universities, including GUC, BUE, MIU and MSA, require 8 courses from grade 11 and 12. A maximum of 3 can be from grade 11 with a minimum of 5 from grade 12. These courses must also be 3M, 3U, 4M or 4U courses. In addition, many of these schools also require SAT scores. It is best to take this in grade 11 so that you have plenty of time to re-take it if necessary. Egyptian universities have a very specific list of courses students should take for different programs. For example:Engineering/Computer Science requires ENG4u or EWC4U, SPH4U, SCH4U, MCR3U, MHF4U + 3 other courses Management requires: ENG4U + 5 from the following list: CGW4U or HSP3M or HSB4M, CHW3M or CHY4U, CIE3M, MCR3U or MCF3M, MDM4U or BAC3M, MCV4U, SPH3U or 4U, SCH3U or 4U, SBI3U or 4U or PSE4U, ICS3U or 4U, BBB4M, TDJ4M, FSF3U or 4U+ 2 other courses Mass Communication requires:ENG4U or EWC4U, TDJ4M + 5 from the following list: CGW4U or HSP3M or HSB4M, CHW3M or CHW4U, CIE3M, MCR3U or MCF3M, MDM4U or BAC3M, MCV4U, SPH3U or 4U, SCH3U or 4U, SBI3U or 4U or PSE4U, FSF3U or 4U, BBB4M, ICS3U or 4U + 1 other course It is very important that students plan carefully to make sure that they have the required courses. Please make an appointment to discuss your options if you are unsure of whether or not you have the requirements for the program/school you are interested in attending. | Skip Spring FlingSkip Calendar Calendar

Each university as different entrance requirements and different programs within a university will also have their own unique requirements. This makes it very important that students research individual universities and programs to make sure that they will meet those requirements. In addition, most universities publish a MINIMUM grade to be accepted. This grade does NOT guarantee acceptance to a particular program – many highly competitive programs will require grades much higher than the universities minimum. That minimum grade will also change each year depending on demand. It is not enough to aim for a university’s MINIMUM requirements.
