The Canadian International School of Egypt is home to students from Pre-School to Grade 12. Graduation from CISE provides its students with the Canadian “Ontario Secondary School Diploma,” as the school is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education in Canada. The education curriculum is delivered identically as if the school were in Toronto or in Canada’s capital, Ottawa.

These questions have been prepared as a guide to parents and students considering registration at the Canadian International School of Egypt (CISE).
1. What is the Canadian International School of Egypt
CISE is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade Twelve International School in Cairo (Kattameya – New Cairo) approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and licensed as a Canadian School by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
At the end of Grade Twelve students can graduate with a Canadian ( Ontario) High School Diploma which is recognized and respected by colleges and universities throughout the world.
2. How did CISE get started?
The Hammams, a prominent Egyptian family, decided to establish an international school as a means of ‘giving back’ something of value to Egyptian society. Under the guidance of Mr. Shebl Hammam and encouraged by the family’s Canadian business experiences, the decision was made to establish a Canadian International School.
3. What makes CISE Different from other International School in Cairo and elsewhere in Egypt?
There are many fine international schools in Egypt. Each has its own attractive features. The Canadian International School is unique.
4. What is involved in applying for admission for my son or daughter to CISE?
Student candidates for CISE, along with their parents, participate in an assessment process to confirm that CISE is the school that will best meet their needs, that process includes:
After this assessment process is completed, parents are given a summary of the results. If the student is not accepted, parents have some useful information to help them plan their child’s educational future. If the student is accepted, CISE has important information to begin planning that student’s school program for the up-coming year.
5. What does it cost to attend CISE?
* Fees can be paid in Egyptian Pounds at the official bank exchange rate on the day of payment of fees.
Assessment Fee: (Non-refundable) L.E 500
Registration Fee: (One time fee for the 1st child) L.E 8,000
(One time fee for all other children in the family) L.E 4,000
Library and Textbook Deposit: (One time deposit) L.E 1,000
All Students: (Paid in full by August 15, 2013)
Activities Fee: (Yearbook, school pictures and local excursions) L.E 1,000
Senior Science Fee: (Grades 11 and 12) L.E 300
Transportation: (Paid in full by August 15, 2013) L.E 6,500
6. What is expected of students who attend CISE?
Students who choose, with the support of their parents, to attend CISE are expected to respond to the expectations contained within the School’s Code of Student Conduct including.

7. What does CISE expect of the parents of its students?
CISE expects that parents will serve as examples for their children of responsible, hard-working, caring adults.
In short, parents are expected to provide their children with support, direction, correction and praise as their children move towards their own adulthood.
8. What will my son or daughter take away from CISE when they graduate?
Memories, mostly pleasant we hope, well-developed work habits, a focus on the future, self-respect, tolerance, a sense of justice and fair play – all of these we hope will be the gifts to our graduates that CISE, our staff and our students’ parents will provide.
